Stellantis has announced a reshuffle of the leadership teams across its brands in the Iberian Peninsula. Effective from 1 September, three executives will take on new responsibilities, all reporting to Zineb Ghout, Managing Director of Stellantis Iberia.

Under the new structure, Ángel Luis Sánchez will lead FIAT/Abarth and Lancia in both Portugal and Spain. Paulo Carelli will head Jeep and Alfa Romeo across the Iberian Peninsula, while Nuno Coutinho will be responsible for Citroën and DS Automobiles in the two markets.

These appointments form part of the broader management reorganisation Stellantis has been rolling out since Antonio Filosa took up the role of Group Chief Executive Officer over the past year.

Who is Ángel Luis Sánchez

Ángel Luis Sánchez holds a degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University, specialising in Management, and is also qualified in Business Administration and Marketing from ESIC. He began his professional career in 2004 at Kia Motors Iberia.

In 2008, he moved to FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), where he carried out a range of marketing and sales roles in Spain and Italy, before being appointed FIAT Director in the Netherlands in 2016. He returned to Spain in 2019 to take charge of Parts and Services, a position he held for six years-first within FCA and, from 2021, within Stellantis.

From April 2025, he led the Iberian Peninsula Premium Cluster, bringing together Alfa Romeo, DS Automobiles and Lancia.

Who is Paulo Carelli

Paulo Carelli studied Marketing and Economics at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires and completed an MBA at the University of CEMA in Argentina. He entered the automotive industry in 1996 as National Director for Alfa Romeo in Argentina.

In 2001, he relocated to Turin, where he held several roles at the brand’s headquarters, including overseeing operations across a number of strategic markets in Europe and East Asia. He was appointed Alfa Romeo Director in Spain in 2007, a role he kept until 2011, when he took over leadership of the FIAT Group in Greece as Chief Executive.

He returned to Spain in 2017 as Commercial Director for Alfa Romeo and Jeep, moving on to become General Manager of both brands in 2019. He was later appointed Jeep Director for Portugal and Spain in April 2021 and, in March 2025, added leadership of FIAT and Abarth across both countries.

Who is Nuno Coutinho

Nuno Coutinho has a degree in Business Administration from IESF, with postgraduate qualifications in Financial Management from ISG and in Management Control and Performance from ISCTE. He joined Peugeot Portugal in 2006. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of posts within the PSA Group and later Stellantis, in France and Brazil, connected to the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles brands.

In 2018, he was appointed global head of sales and pricing for DS Automobiles, a position he held until September 2023. He then became Director of the Citroën brand for Portugal and Spain, a role he had continued in up to now.
