Following the arrival of two special editions in 2020 - the 595 Monster Energy Yamaha and the 595 ScorpioneOro - the Abarth 595 line-up is refreshed for 2021 with new paint options, updated materials, styling tweaks and extra technology.

Abarth 595 range for 2021

Some fundamentals remain unchanged, starting with the way the range is split into four versions: 595, Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse. The compact Abarth’s heart is also familiar, as it continues with the 1.4 T-Jet offered in three outputs: 145 hp in the 595, 165 hp in the Turismo, and 180 hp in both the Competizione and Esseesse.

Engines, transmissions and performance hardware

The 1.4 T-Jet comes paired with a manual gearbox, while a robotised sequential transmission can be specified as an option.

Reserved for the Competizione and Esseesse are the Garrett GT1446 turbocharger, a mechanical limited-slip differential, Koni FSD dampers, and Brembo brakes with fixed aluminium calipers.

More new features

As standard, the updated Abarth 595 range now includes the UConnect infotainment system, operated through a 7-inch touchscreen and featuring a revised start-up and shut-down interface. Optional equipment includes satellite navigation, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Also on the options list is the BeatsAudio™ sound system, delivering a total output of 480 W via an eight-channel digital amplifier. The set-up comprises two dome tweeters mounted in the front pillars, two 165 mm mid-woofers in the front doors, two 165 mm full-range speakers in the rear panels, and a 200 mm subwoofer positioned centrally in the spare-wheel compartment in the boot.

Inside the Abarth 595, there is a new selector for Sport mode, which is now called “Scorpion mode”. When activated, this driving setting alters torque delivery, the calibration of the electric steering and the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal.

Version-by-version updates: Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse

Looking at the range in more detail, the revised 595 Turismo receives refreshed, exclusive leather seats available in several colours, including a new Helmet Brown.

The 595 Competizione adds a new matte finish called Rally Blue, inspired by the Fiat 131 Rally of the 1970s, along with new 17-inch wheels influenced by the “Deltona” design (Lancia Delta HF Integrale) from the 1990s. It also gets a specific, sportier exterior graphic package that can be paired with the new Rally Blue or Scorpione Black. In the cabin, the dashboard is trimmed in Alcantara, there are new leather seats, and the gear lever is finished in carbon fibre.

At the top of the range, the 595 Esseesse gains new titanium tailpipes for the Akrapovič exhaust system.
