Hyundai reveals the first official images of the fifth-generation Santa Fe

Before its official unveiling, scheduled for August, Hyundai has decided to publish the first official images of the fifth-generation Santa Fe.

Hyundai’s largest SUV is being positioned with a stronger emphasis on outdoor activities and leisure time, while also adopting a look that is completely different from the current generation.

Boxier styling and the new “H” light signature

The softer, more rounded contours have been dropped. In their place are straight lines, sharper edges and flatter surfaces. Will it please everyone? Unlikely, but the design projects toughness and blends utility with a more sophisticated feel.

Another notable feature of the new Hyundai Santa Fe is its new “H” lighting signature, visible at both the front and the rear.

Wheels, wheelbase and tailgate access

To match the body’s more angular styling, Hyundai has chosen alloy wheels that can be as large as 21″ in diameter.

From the side, the generous wheelbase stands out. At the back, the tailgate spans virtually the full width of the body, with the aim of making access easier.

These are two elements Hyundai developed for the new-generation Santa Fe with family time in mind.

Santa Fe focuses on space and versatility

Official specifications for the new Hyundai Santa Fe have not yet been released, but one thing already seems clear: it won’t be small-especially inside.

As the first images suggest, the rear area of the cabin can be used almost like an extra room. And if that still isn’t enough space, Hyundai even suggests fitting a roof tent.

Inside, there will be seven seats available, and these two rows of seats can be folded down to create a completely flat floor.

Up front, the highlights include the curved panel for the instrument display and multimedia system, along with the various connectivity options. Naturally, there are also multiple storage areas and plenty of space throughout.

For the new generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe, the brand also points to more environmentally friendly choices of cabin materials. Options include recycled plastic, as well as fabrics and leather produced from sustainable sources.

When will it arrive?

For now, the only confirmed detail is that its official presentation will take place in August.

Perhaps then we will learn not only all the details about the new-generation Santa Fe, but also the dates and Hyundai’s launch strategy for its home market.
