Manthey Racing - the team behind the kit that helped the Porsche 911 GT2 RS reclaim the Nürburgring lap record for the fastest road car - is marking 25 years in business. To celebrate that milestone, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 has been created.
A 25th-anniversary Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 built with Manthey Racing
Developed jointly by Porsche Motorsport and Manthey Racing, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 will be produced in a strictly limited run of just 30 cars. It has been conceived both for track days and for competitive use.
Base model and Manthey Racing competition-inspired livery
The starting point is the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport (991 generation) - a scarce model in its own right, capped at 200 units. Visually, the decoration takes its cues from Manthey Racing’s 911 GT3 R race car, most clearly seen in the yellow-green accents on the air intakes and on the 18-inch wheels.
Those 18-inch wheels are shared with the new 935 (also derived from the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport).
What else changed?
From a mechanical standpoint, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 uses the same setup as the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, as you would expect. That means a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six producing 700 hp, paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
As with the drivetrain, the cabin is also almost unchanged compared with the “regular” 911 GT2 RS Clubsport. The key difference is a plaque that highlights this example as being a little more “special” than the rest.
So what, in the end, sets apart the car Porsche Motorsport and Manthey Racing have produced to mark 25 years of the German company?
Bodywork, cooling and aero revisions
To begin with, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 features a reworked front end, with particular emphasis on the lower section. Here, a trio of air intakes stands out: the central opening sits ahead of a huge radiator - Porsche has done away with the radiators located in the wheel arches on the standard model - while the flanking intakes help channel airflow more effectively towards the front brakes.
Alongside this come new headlights, a carbon-fibre bonnet with several air outlets, a wider track, an exclusive rear wing, a new diffuser, and a twin sports exhaust system.
Speaking about the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, Matthias Scholz, Director of Porsche’s GT racing cars, said: “the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 benefits from the racing experience gained by Manthey and Porsche Motorsport. It is the perfect car for ambitious private drivers and is an impressive example of engineering capability”.
Exclusivity comes at a cost: €525,000 before taxes. Anyone interested in securing one of the 30 units can place an order via email at [email protected].
