Porsche has just unveiled a new special series for the Taycan and Cayenne ranges. It is called the Black Edition, and it is already available to order in Portugal, with prices starting at €126,562 for the electric model and €149,999 for the SUV.

Despite the name, the Black Edition is not restricted to black paint. All versions can be specified at no extra cost in any of the finishes offered within the Shades palette.

On the Taycan, the available colours are Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Ice Grey Metallic. For the Cayenne, buyers can choose from Quartzite Grey Metallic, Vanadium Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.

More style, more equipment

Once the colour has been selected, both the Taycan and Cayenne Black Edition gain the Sport Design Package on the outside, bringing glossy black window trims and model lettering. On the Taycan, the rear light strip with the Porsche script illuminated in black also comes as standard.

Inside, highlights include illuminated door sill guards in brushed black aluminium, the storage package and the front Comfort seats.

Standard equipment also features Lane Change Assist, Surround View with Active Parking Assist, 21-inch wheels with a full-colour Porsche crest, HD Matrix LED headlights (darkened on the Cayenne) and LED door projectors displaying the brand logo.

This special series also offers the “extended Black Edition package”, adding “Black Edition” lettering on the front doors, exclusive keys and key pouch, plus illuminated door sill guards.

Larger battery

The Taycan Black Edition comes standard with the Performance Plus battery, offering 105 kWh of capacity. In saloon form, it produces 320 kW (435 hp) and delivers up to 668 km of electric range (WLTP). In Sport Turismo guise, output rises to 440 kW (598 hp), while range is quoted at 611 km (WLTP).

The Cayenne Black Edition is available with pure combustion powertrains (a petrol option with 353 hp) and with two plug-in hybrid variants (badged E-Hybrid). The hybrids produce 470 hp and offer 82 km of electric range in the entry version, and 519 hp with 81 km of electric range in the more powerful option. Both SUV and Coupé body styles will be offered.
