Hyundai has given the IONIQ 6 a significant lift, not only in the way it looks but also in the technology it brings to the table.
2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6: exterior redesign
At the front, there is now a slimmer nose and a new split LED lighting layout that is noticeably narrower. The daytime running lights sit at the top, with the main headlamps positioned lower down, and Hyundai’s now-familiar pixel signature remains part of the design. The car’s overall silhouette has also been subtly honed.
Around the back of the 2025 IONIQ 6, the styling that has continued to split opinion stays in place. What has changed is the addition of a new ducktail spoiler, replacing the more pronounced element seen on the previous version and delivering a cleaner, more aerodynamic profile.
This visual evolution follows the “Pure Flow, Refined” concept, with lines and proportions revisited to strengthen the identity of an electric streamliner-in line with the thinking Hyundai presented when the model was first launched.
A higher bonnet, a shark-nose look and stronger horizontal elements help the 2025 IONIQ 6 appear wider and more contemporary. Meanwhile, the lower black trim-running through to the doors-adds to the body’s sense of movement and helps visually reduce the car’s overall height.
Interior: “Mindful Cocoon” updates
Inside, Hyundai continues with its “Mindful Cocoon” approach, focused on wellbeing and day-to-day usability. New materials have been applied to the door panels, the steering wheel has been redesigned, and the centre console has been reworked to make it more practical. There is also a new, larger climate-control screen, intended to make operation more intuitive.
“The IONIQ 6 has evolved from a single electric streamliner into a complete line-up, with each variant expressing a unique character while staying true to one, refined vision”.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Line: RN22e-inspired details
Alongside the facelift, Hyundai also revealed the new N Line version, featuring cues inspired by the RN22e concept. As well as a more assertive appearance-helped by wing-shaped, sculpted bumpers-this variant underlines the model’s sportier image without sacrificing its aerodynamic profile.
For now, Hyundai has not released specifications. At present, the IONIQ 6 is available in Portugal with just one powertrain and battery option: 168 kW (228 hp) and 77.4 kWh, respectively.
Hyundai IONIQ 6 N is happening
As with the Hyundai IONIQ 5, the South Korean brand’s saloon will also gain a more powerful, more performance-focused version, identified by the N badge and featuring a much more aggressive look.
Its official unveiling is scheduled for July, effectively leaving N Line as a kind of appetiser.
Even so, one of the 2025 IONIQ 6 images already offers a glimpse of the IONIQ 6 N. See the gallery below:
Although no firm details have been confirmed, it would not be surprising if the drivetrain closely mirrors what we already know from the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N-meaning a genuine technology showcase with more than 600 hp.
