The third generation of the Peugeot 308 has become one of the brand’s most significant models. While this compact family car has topped its segment in Portugal in recent years, the 308 SW has also been the country’s best-selling estate.

To help keep both models at the top of the sales charts, Peugeot has introduced an update - and there is no longer any need to wait to place an order. The new Peugeot 308 and 308 SW can be ordered from 33 535 euros and 34 635 euros, respectively.

Exterior update: new lighting signature for the Peugeot 308

As part of this refresh, the 308 adopts a completely reworked front end. Compared with its predecessor, it stands out through the use of split headlamps and a new lighting signature made up of “three claws” in LED - fitted as standard across the range.

Cabin changes and i-Cockpit technology

Inside, the i-Cockpit keeps its familiar foundations, but Peugeot has refined the instrument panel and introduced customisable ambient lighting for the first time. In GT form - the most comprehensively equipped version - the 308 now features the i-Connect Advanced infotainment system, bringing connected TomTom navigation and ChatGPT integration.

Powertrains to suit every taste

The Peugeot 308 line-up remains one of the most wide-ranging in the segment, offering powertrains to suit every taste. As standard, the French model is built around a 48V mild-hybrid system that pairs a 1.2 Turbo petrol engine with a small electric motor, delivering a combined total of 145 cv.

For Diesel buyers, the new 308 stays loyal to a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 130 cv and 300 Nm. If you want the best of both worlds, the plug-in hybrid version (195 cv) may be the pick, as it uses a 17.2 kWh battery and claims up to 85 km in 100% electric mode.

The biggest news, however, concerns the E-308. Its range has increased to 450 km (WLTP) - 34 km more than before - thanks to a new 58.4 kWh battery (55.4 kWh usable). The model also introduces Plug & Charge (automatic authentication at chargers) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), enabling it to power external devices up to 3.5 kW.

Equipment levels: Style, Allure and GT

The new Peugeot 308 arrives with three trim levels. The entry-level Style already includes Full LED headlamps, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch central display, 16-inch alloy wheels, and the main active safety systems.

Above this, Allure adds a rear parking camera, 17-inch wheels, tinted windows, and upholstery combining fabric and leather.

At the top of the range, GT is set apart by an illuminated grille and badge, front sensors, Alcantara trim, Driver Sport Pack, configurable ambient lighting, 18-inch wheels, connected navigation, and sporty aluminium pedals.

Starting from what prices?

The Peugeot 308 and 308 SW are now available to order in Portugal, backed by an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty. Take a look at the prices for the full line-up:

The versions fitted with a Diesel engine do not yet have confirmed pricing. According to the brand, these figures will only be announced between the end of this year and the start of 2026.
