200th Challenger 3500 delivered to Piero Ferrari

Bombardier has announced the delivery of its 200th Challenger 3500 business jet to Piero Ferrari, vice-chairman of Ferrari. The handover brings together one of the most successful super midsize jets in business aviation with one of the most recognisable names in mobility, design and craftsmanship.

According to Bombardier, the aircraft will support Piero Ferrari’s travel to Formula 1 races and other professional engagements, providing the performance, comfort and reliability expected by a leader associated with excellence, precision and innovation.

Reaching 200 aircraft less than four years after the model entered service underlines the Challenger 3500’s strong commercial performance, rising customer demand and Bombardier’s ongoing leadership in one of business aviation’s most competitive segments.

This milestone mirrors the Challenger 3500’s strong reception since entering service. In its first full year of deliveries in 2023, it exceeded every other business jet model in the mid-size and large categories for the number of aircraft delivered, highlighting its appeal to customers seeking a proven blend of performance, efficiency and cabin comfort.

The Challenger 3500 has swiftly become one of the most sought-after aircraft in its class. It offers the lowest direct operating costs in the segment, benchmark performance, broad versatility and a next-generation cabin. Continuing Bombardier’s longstanding leadership in the super midsize market, the aircraft carries forward a track record defined by reliability, performance and customer-focused innovation.

The model is also gaining further traction with major fleet operators, reinforcing its standing with some of the industry’s most demanding buyers. Recent firm commitments announced by operators such as BOND, NetJets and VistaJet point to growing adoption among a highly discerning customer base.

Cabin innovations and environmental credentials

The Challenger 3500 features a carefully conceived cabin and a range of innovations that have set new standards for the category, including the industry’s first voice-controlled cabin and the award-winning Nuage seat, first introduced on the Global 7500. The aircraft also has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), as does Bombardier’s entire portfolio of aircraft currently in production. Bombardier says this commitment strengthens its position as the only business jet manufacturer to publish EPDs for its aircraft.
