New Audi TTS Competition Plus adds 14 hp with 2.0 TFSI 320 hp and Bronze Selection

The additional 14 hp delivered by the 2.0 TFSI is one of the headline changes on the new Audi TTS Competition Plus, a fresh trim level for the TTS offered in both coupé and roadster form.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder now produces 320 hp rather than 306 hp, while torque stays at 400 Nm. Even with the small power increase, the published performance figures remain unchanged. Audi continues to quote 4.5s for 0–100 km/h in the coupé and 4.8s in the roadster, with top speed still capped at 250 km/h (limited) for both.

Likewise, the S tronic transmission (seven-speed dual-clutch), four-wheel drive and magnetorheological dampers carry over to this new specification without modification.

Competition Plus. What else does it add?

As standard on the outside, the TTS Competition Plus comes with LED headlights, a brand emblem applied as an adhesive film just ahead of the rear wheel, tinted glass (on the coupé), red brake calipers and 20″ gloss-black wheels. Also notable is the fitment of a fixed rear wing. There are four available colours for the Competition Plus: Chronos grey, Glacier white, Tango red and Turbo blue.

Inside, it features the 12.3″ virtual cockpit and exclusive ebony Nappa leather upholstery with contrast stitching - in red or blue. There is also a diamond-style pattern on the front seats, and an embossed “S” logo on their backs. Turbo blue and Tango red highlights are included too (the latter exclusive to the coupé). Carbon-fibre-textured decorative trim pieces are also standard.

Finally, the flat-bottom steering wheel includes a 12 o’clock marker and is trimmed in leather and Alcantara, with Alcantara also used on the gear selector.

Bronze Selection

Alongside the TTS Competition Plus, Audi has also introduced a new equipment pack called Bronze Selection, although it will only be available from the second quarter of 2021.

In essence, it is a styling package that adds to both the TTS and the rest of the Audi TT range a set of bronze and copper-toned interior details (from the air vents to the stitching when you choose the sports seats). When this pack is specified, the exterior paint options are cut down to just three: Chronos grey, Glacier white and Mythos black. The idea is that these shades best match the 20″ bronze five-arm V wheels, as well as the brand emblem in the same tone positioned ahead of the rear wheel.

The Bronze Selection pack also includes LED headlights and rear lights, a B&O audio system, aluminium inlays, and a cabin with additional leather trim and contrast stitching. The pair of round exhaust outlets are also treated, featuring a chrome finish. The Singleframe grille changes as well, becoming gloss black on the TT and titanium black on the TTS.

In Germany, this pack will cost 6190 euros for the TT and 4490 euros for the TTS. Prices in Portugal are expected to be different, as Portuguese VAT is 23% while German VAT is 19%.

When do they arrive?

Audi TTS Competition Plus models, in both coupé and roadster versions, are due to begin deliveries at the start of next year. They can already be ordered in Germany, with prices starting at 61 000 euros and 63 700 euros respectively. Pricing for Portugal has not yet been announced.
